Liquid ring vacuum pumps are positive displacement vacuum pump. As shown in the figure, the rotor is installed eccentrically in the pump body, and its rotation forces the working fluid to form an equal-thickness rotating liquid ring along the inner wall of the pump body. At this time, an “air chamber” is formed between two adjacent impellers, the impeller hub and the inner surface of the liquid ring. As the rotor rotates, this air chamber in the pump suction area volume gradually increases, its internal pressure decreases, so that the gas will be sucked into the pump; on the contrary, the air chamber in the exhaust area volume gradually decreases, its internal pressure rises, so that the gas will be discharged from the pump. In order to maintain a constant liquid ring, the working fluid must be continuously supplied to the pump during operation.

  1. The main difference between two-stage liquid ring pumps and single-stage liquid ring pumps lies in the pumping speed specificity curve.
