Vacculex Provides Vacuum Solutions For Ultra-High-Speed Maglev Trains Project

The first phase of the main project of the Shanxi Datong (Yanggao) test line, an ultra-high-speed low-vacuum pipeline maglev transportation system test line with a speed of 1,000 kilometers per hour, has been completed. This is the longest and largest full-scale high-speed flying train test line under construction all over the world, with a total length of 2 kilometers. Thereafter, the second phase of this project will be extended to 5 kilometers, and the third phase will be extended to 15 kilometers.

Realizing “Near-Earth Flight” With A Speed Of 1,000 Kilometers Per Hour

The ultra-high-speed low-vacuum pipeline maglev transportation system is a new generation of transportation designed based on the two technical principles of superconducting maglev and low-vacuum pipelines. It has the two characteristics of maglev and low vacuum. It can achieve speeds of 100 mph by sliding on a magnetic track. A “near-earth flight” of more than 1,000 kilometers is equivalent to traveling more than 300 meters in one second. It is similar to the speed of a traditional bullet coming out of the barrel. It is faster than the speed of a civil aviation airliner below 900 kilometers per hour. Its speed is currently the fastest train. More than 3 times, it can be called a “hyper high-speed rail” or “flying rail”. In the near future, it will become the fifth generation of electromagnetic-driven transportation after high-speed rail.

VACCULEX is honored to be involved in such a groundbreaking and historic project. The main features of this project are the high differential pressure of the Roots pump(booster), the fast pumping of the Roots screw vacuum system and the stable maintenance of the vacuum degree, VACCULEX technical experts and engineers have successfully completed the whole set of the Roots screw vacuum system for the support of the whole system operation through unremitting efforts, and the trial operation is very successful.

What Are The Advantages Of Ultra-High-Speed Flying Trains?

Ultra-high-speed flying trains do not require an on-board power supply and do not use energy such as electricity or coal. Under ideal conditions, they have strong emergency operation capabilities, small wear and tear on vehicle equipment, low operating resistance, and lower maintenance costs and energy consumption costs, making them more economical and environmentally friendly. .

Although it is super fast, the safety of this kind of flying train during operation is even higher than that of high-speed rail, airplanes and cars, because most of the lines it passes are straight, with few turns and no inclines. Will not affect passenger comfort.

Because the pipeline connection can achieve seamless connection, the departure interval of the ultra-high-speed flying train can be similar to that of the subway. Passengers can get on and off immediately after entering the station, saving waiting time for transfers. In addition, the train body is light and suitable for high-frequency departures. Due to the sealing properties of the vacuum pipeline, the ultra-high-speed flying train is no longer affected by severe weather such as heavy rain, lightning, and freezing during operation. Because of this, such a transport system could even be built under the sea.
